DRAW WITH US!

What is Life Drawing?

Life Drawing, or Figure Drawing is the practice of drawing

the human figure from life, typically nude.

We are Leeds Drawing Club

We offer untutored weekly life drawing classes and fully tutored life drawing courses throughout the year.

We specialise in creating a space, atmosphere and a high level of  hospitality that allows you to take that time for yourself, to relax and draw.

We are the original untutored life drawing sessions in Leeds, and have run classes and workshops in and around Leeds since 2007.

We believe drawing is good for you.

We welcome artists, creatives, students, anyone who loves to draw and who understands the benefits of getting your sketch on, on a regular basis.

We also welcome beginners / those brand new to drawing for which we recommend our Tutored Course.

We draw at two locations

Our main studio is at 232 Meanwood Road, Leeds LS7 2AH

Our city centre venue is Cafe 164, Munro House, Duke St, Leeds LS9 8AG

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it all work?

At our Studio, you can book a single untutored class or a block booking of 6.

At Cafe 164 we run the classes once a month.

Head over to the timetable page where you will see all classes listed, at both our Studio and Leeds City centre venues.  Simply click on the date you want to come and follow the booking instructions.

*Please note the sessions are non-refundable / transferable!*

How are the sessions structured?

It is 2 hours of drawing, split into a series of poses, each lasting between 10 and 20 minutes long. We have a tea break partway through the session.

Are materials provided?

We provide paper, charcoal and pencils, and we have easels and drawing boards. All materials are included in the price, with the option to purchase additional materials from  our shop. You are also welcome to bring your own materials.

I’ve booked a session but I can no longer attend, can I get a refund or roll it over to another session?

All individual sessions are non-refundable and non transferable to another day, so please take this into account when booking a class! This applies to every class and course we offer.

I’m a school student (under 18) – can I come?

Absolutely, school students aged 16 and over can come to the sessions.

I’m a life model, and I want to model for your sessions – how do I apply?

We are not currently looking for models, but please feel free to fill in an application form if you want, just in case.

What’s the difference between an individual session and a block booking?

An individual session is for one 2 hour session, at £10. These are for people who prefer to take it week by week or for first timers who are not sure if they want to commit to a whole block of 6 drawing sessions.

A block booking is for 6 classes, for people who definitely want to come to all the available sessions during that period. With this option, one session is free.

Block bookings are available for the Meanwood Road Studio only.

Do you do private group bookings?

Private tutored drawing classes for individuals and groups of up to 15 – yes, please contact us for a bespoke price.

Hen / Stag parties – no

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept paypal for all classes booked online. You can also book and pay for a class at the studio, where we accept card payments and cash.

Is there parking available?

There is free on street parking on either side of the building on a first come first served basis.

I’ve never done life drawing before – can I still come?

Of course! Beginners are most welcome to the weekly untutored life drawing classes. We also offer a beginners course for those who are new to life drawing, which runs throughout the year.
