About the Instructor
I set up Leeds Drawing Club in 2007 as an informal life drawing group. Over the years it has developed into a regular and much loved fixture on the Leeds art scene.
Originally trained in Theatre Design at Central St Martins, University of the Arts London, life drawing has been a continuous presence in my life, from degree level, throughout my career in hospitality (founder, 164 Munro House and Headingley) and in the arts (founder, The Gallery at 164).
In my experience as gallery owner, I curated over 70 exhibitions, commissioned many artworks and designed and managed lots of creative public events over the 12 years that we had our space. Creating space for people, whether it is for drawing, eating, or experiencing art has always been interesting to me.
Watching the progress of everyone who sketched their way through our doors over the years, and using my own skills and knowledge, I have put together a series of drawing sessions led and taught by me, based on what I have come to know about observation and drawing.
